Networking Night // Conversations with the Experts with Ainslie Wills and Charlotte Abroms

  • Hotel South Melbourne 160 Clarendon Street South Melbourne, VIC, 3205 Australia (map)

Calling all songwriters, producers and music creatives,

Join The Real Songwriters of Melbourne (RSOM) Community for their first Networking Night of 2024 as we welcome songwriters of all ages, genres, genders, backgrounds and experience levels to our highly anticipated event.

Joining us on the Industry Panel are singer/songwriter Ainslie Wills and artist manager and Founder of Hear Hear Group, Charlotte Abroms.

A 4 x APRA 'Song of the Year' nominee and a 2 x 'Australian Music Prize' nominee, Ainslie is a much loved figure in the Australian music community. Last year saw Ainslie scoring second place in the prestigious Vanda & Young Songwriting Competition for her co-write with Budjerah on single, 'Ready For The Sky.' Now, in her early 40s and recently becoming a mother, Ainslie has proudly become a full time independent artist. She has also featured in many iconic publications including Rolling Stone, NME, Vogue, Marie Claire, Pilerats, abc, triple j's 'Like A Version' and more.

Charlotte Abroms is an Australian music manager and Founder of the Hear Hear Group that has guided the careers of many local artists, including Ainslie Wills. She is also a recipient of the Lighthouse Award, presented by APRA AMCOS, which aims to spread awareness of the gender imbalance in the music industry.

Together with RSOM Founder, Jena Marino, they will share their story about their journey into music, motherhood and building a full time career in music. They will also share their predictions with emerging songwriters on what lies ahead in the music game in 2024.

This is your chance to meet Ainslie and Charlotte up close and ask your burning questions!

Returning to Hotel South Melbourne with UNLIMITED WOODFIRE PIZZA, this event will also include a live stream for songwriters based in Regional Victoria and interstate or who would prefer to tune in from the comfort of their own home.
